Experiences with new Razer Laptop Cooling Pad? | Razer Insider (2025)

I have struggled to find any information, reviews, videos etc. myself but ultimately purchased it anyways. I am currently using the Llano V12 and have had several other cooling pads in the past, so I will let you know how the Razer one compares to other popular units. Mine should arriveon 12/03/24.

I got this yesterdayI might put this here so if people want to know:

I have a Razer Blade 16 (2023) RTX4090 64gb ram

With Laptop stand
on idle CPU gets to 70 to 80 degrees C, GPU 60 degrees C

With Razer Cooling Pad
On low (1700RPM), CPU goes down to 70 degrees C, GPU 50 degrees C
on medium (2450RPM) It goes down to 60 degrees C, GPU 40 - 50 degrees C
on high (3000RPM), CPU is at 50 degrees, GPU 40 degrees

Star Wars Jedi Survivor (3440x1440, Epic quality)

With Laptop Stand
CPU 100 degrees (Thermal Thottling) GPU 80 degrees

With Razer Cooling Pad
On low (1700RPM), CPU goes down to 80 degrees C, GPU 80 degrees C
on medium (2450RPM) It goes down to 70 degrees C, GPU 60 - 70 degrees C
on high (3000RPM), CPU is at 60 degrees, GPU 50 degrees

Metaphor Refantazio (3440x1440, Max quality)

With Laptop stand
on idle CPU gets to 80 to 90 degrees C, GPU 70 degrees C

With Razer Cooling Pad
On low (1700RPM), CPU goes down to 70 degrees C, GPU 50 degrees C
on medium (2450RPM) It goes down to 70 degrees C, GPU 40 - 50 degrees C
on high (3000RPM), CPU is at 60 - 70 degrees, GPU 50 degrees

Sound, if I put the Razer Blade 16 on boost with Maxspeed fan mode, around 2000RPM, you get to match the volume of the two. Whichis low High.

The Smart fan curve bothers me because it goes up and down, up and down so I put it in Fixed RPM. My only problem is that the lighting don't work and synapse 4 is not doing well for the lighting for this cooling pad.

As you can see high sometimes less efficient so most of the time low to medium is sufficient to cool this laptop. All in all, it keeps my laptop cool, I can run games on balanced settings on razer synapse while playing intense games such as God of War Ragnarok, Alan Wake 2 (which those also gives the same result / better thanStar Wars Survivor, I chose Survivoras that one is the worst optimised and hardest to run and Metaphor as base as its easiestto run)

Hopethis helps.

Did you get it to work with Synapse? i cant get it to be detected.

The fan works with Synapse but not the lighting. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t.

So synapse is detecting it? It’s listed as a device with the others? i tried everything to get it to show in that list lol

Thanks

Yep it does, you have to be on Synapse 4 though, I had to upgrade from 3

That got to be it! Thanks so much. will try now.

Update: that worked thanks!

Hey Guys,

Purchased one from the website and shipped it to middle east. Device arrived faulty (vibrating and making weird noises) stops working when connected to synapse.

Asked for a replacement, Razer is asking me send it back to US, where the shipping cost will be the same price as the unit itself.

3 devices out 4 came faulty from Razer, im shocked.

Emailed them today, will see what they will say.

I purchased the Razer laptop cooling pad for my Razer 15” advanced pro. The power adaptor is strange. I have never seen one like it. It reminds me of European power plugs. I live in the USA and it doesn’t say anything at all about it being anything other than USA standard. Help, please.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I cannot even use this expensive laptop standsince the power cord is wrong. Razer, could you help?

You have to line up the tabs and turn it to the right to lock it in the plug. It is in the directions.

I got the pad a few days ago and have my 2023 Razer Blade 16 4090 on it.

The cooling pad allows you to either set it to be in ‘fixed RPM’ mode or in ‘smart fan curve’ mode. Unfortunately, ‘smart’ throttles up and down so rapidly and drastically that it is distracting.

The cooling pad allows my particular laptop model to enter a performance mode called “Hyperboost” which advertising says lets it put more power into the components than the system would otherwise allow it to - presumably due to thermal limitations of the laptop.

The problem I have with both ‘smart fan curve’ and ‘Hyperboost’ mode (a mode for the laptop that turns off ‘fixed’ and turns on a ‘hyperboost’ version of ‘smart fan curve’ mode) is that the fan speed constantly and erratically goes up and down even when the computer is just doing light tasks.

Here is my proposal: (1) give the user the ability to set a ‘floor’ fan speed in both of those modes where the fan never goes below that floor but it can go upward when necessary and (2) give the user the ability to set a ‘delay’ and a slower ‘down-throttling’ deceleration of fan speedin how quickly the fan speed drops. The ‘floor’idea would seem to(1) allow the fan speed to be set higher as a floor so that the fan isn’t constantly changing speeds on tasks that don’t need higher cooling than possible and (2) allow the hardware to be ‘pre-cooled’ so that it has a tiny bit of thermal head-room for short bursts of speed without going above the floor. The delayed down-throttle would so serve to give a little extra cooling and would keep the fan speed changes from being so distractingly abrupt.

I hope Razer will consider this idea!

One more idea, but its not really about the cooling pad - its about what is shown in the cooling pad synapse menu and why it would be good to show in the Laptop menu too:

On the Laptop Cooling Pad synapse page, it shows the CPU and GPU Tamp, Utilization, Clock, Power, and Fan Speed. I recommend showing this information on the Performance tab for the laptop itself.
